Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen 2 Betting Tips
Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen rematch at London’s Copperbox Arena on Saturday following the former’s controversial split-decision win in Saudi Arabia last year.
The Romford Bull was dropped to the canvas by Allen, who appeared to have done enough to get the verdict from the judges. However, the decision instead went with Fisher, who extended his record to 13-0 (11 KOs).
Allen (23-7-2, 18 KOs) has the chance to put things right in Saturday night’s rematch, but Fisher will be in no mood to lose his unbeaten record.
Tip 1 – Dave Allen to beat Johnny Fisher @ 9/4
Fisher and Allen will face off in the ring for the second time after the pair battled it out in Saudi Arabia last December.
Fisher was awarded the verdict in Riyadh, but that can’t be described as anything but a generous decision, and it’s a surprise to see Allen available at such a big price given what happened in that first fight.
The White Rhino dominated the inexperienced Fisher, notably putting him down on the canvas.
It’s a wonder how the judges saw fit to give Fisher the decision as the 26-year-old looked all at sea against a tough, smart and strong opponent.
Clearly Fisher has the potential to improve from that contest, given it was his first bout against a credible opponent, and the Romford Bull is still in the early stages of his career.
However, it’s also possible that the level of performance the 26-year-old produced against Allen is all that he has to offer and it wouldn’t be the first time a hyped fighter has been left exposed.
Allen has been in the ring with Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, Tony Yoka, Frazer Clarke and David Price in a 32-fight career and those opponents are a world away from the low-key bouts Fisher has been contesting.
Of course, Doncaster’s Allen has lost seven of his 32 professional contests and he was beaten by all of Whyte, Ortiz, Yoka, Clarke and Price, but the preparation of the 33-year-old has often left a lot to be desired.
Allen looked in good shape physically and mentally in the first contest with Fisher and the same can be expected on Saturday night.
The White Rhino now has the belief that he has the measure of the 26-year-old, even if the judges didn’t award him the victory in Saudi Arabia, and 9/4 looks a cracking price for him to level the score.
Tip 2 – Dave Allen to win by KO, TKO or DQ @ 27/5
At 27/5, take a chance on backing Allen to win by stoppage on Saturday night.
Fisher was rocked and dropped by a short left hook in the first contest between the pair and Allen is likely to control the fight on the inside.
The Doncaster man is now aware that he has the power to hurt Fisher and also that the 26-year-old is susceptible to power. It would be no surprise to see Allen score a stoppage success on Saturday night.
