Leverkusen vs Dortmund Tips: Bet Builder Value in Bundesliga Clash

Get ready for a meeting of momentum and ambition on Matchday 12 of the Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund both arrive off the back of standout European victories – Leverkusen stunning Manchester City at the Etihad and Dortmund dismantling Villarreal in front of a raucous Yellow Wall with a 4-0 drubbing.

Only a point separates these two in third and fourth and with Bayern Munich showing signs of vulnerability after their 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League...

Saturday’s clash at the BayArena could be massive – as massive as this 16/5 Bet Builder we’ve constructed for such an occasion.

Leg 1 – BTTS @ 4/9

This fixture has historically been a goals guarantee but the numbers behind it are what really make the first leg of our Bet Builder stand out.

Leverkusen are the Bundesliga’s second-most potent attacking side right now, averaging 2.45 goals per game with 27 goals scored overall, just behind current league leaders Bayern.

Dortmund, on the other hand, have taken a more conservative approach this season yet have still notched 19 league goals, averaging 1.73 goals per game in their own right – scoring seven in the past week alone.

More importantly, both teams have scored in each of the last four Bundesliga meetings between them.

With European momentum behind both, expect another goal-heavy evening in Leverkusen.

Leg 2 – Serhou Guirassy over 1.5 shots on target @ 4/5

Fresh off a Champions League brace midweek, the Guinean forward is riding high in confidence and averages 1.74 shots on target per 90 in domestic action.

That alone makes this leg worth considering even with Patrik Schick – Leverkusen’s in-form forward and another 20+ goal man from last season – looking to shine after heading home Leverkusen’s second goal against City.

Either could fit this Bet Builder, having scored five goals each in the Bundesliga, but we give Guirassy the edge due to his Czech counterpart averaging slightly fewer shots on target per game.

There’ll be plenty of individual battles across the pitch on Saturday – few as entertaining as Schick vs Guirassy, who both ended last season on 21 goals.

Leg 3 – Leverkusen over 3.5 goalkeeper saves @ 8/5

Mark Flekken vs Gregor Kobel is another marquee contest worth watching, given this is to be a high-stakes, end-to-end affair.

Leverkusen have faced an average of 4.3 shots on target per game in their last three outings, and goalkeepers facing Dortmund have averaged four or more saves in five of the last seven Bundesliga fixtures.

Need a more recent example? Look no further than Flekken’s nine saves against Pep Guardiola’s City – a team centred round famed Borussia Dortmund alumni Erling Haaland.

What’s more, Flekken currently ranks in the Bundesliga’s top 10 for saves this season with 36 – a number likely to grow facing Guirassy and the likes of Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi who can trouble even the best shot-stoppers on their day.
