Lens vs Paris Saint-Germain Betting Tips

Second-placed Lens are determined to fight until the bitter end in the Ligue 1 title race and they will be trying their utmost to defeat leaders Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Wednesday (8pm).

A successful defence of the title is just a matter of time for PSG, who hold a six-point lead and a vastly superior goal difference (plus 44 as opposed to plus 29).

But Lens are refusing to lie down and they guaranteed themselves a top-two finish with last Friday’s 1-0 victory at home to Nantes.

Pierre Sage’s side would have been hoping for PSG to slip up over the weekend, but their Sunday was spoiled as the leaders held their nerve to triumph 1-0 at home to Brest.

Moving onto the midweek match, Lens are 12/5 to get the win they need to delay the inevitable, while PSG are 22/25, and the draw is available at 3/1.

Parisiens should show their class

Tip 1 – Paris Saint-Germain To Win @ 22/25

Paris Saint-Germain have been kept up to their work in the Ligue 1 title race but they can get over the line by defeating rivals Lens in northern France.

Given PSG’s status as one of the great teams of the modern era, it is to Lens’ credit that they have pushed them so hard.

Lens held a one-point lead over PSG at the turn of the year, and they still have a realistic shot at silverware after earning the right to face Nice in the French Cup final.

However, the Blood and Gold have sustained four losses among their last 14 league games and could suffer against the leaders, who are likely to register a fifth successive away league victory.

Kvicha could convert

Tip 2 – Kvicha Kvaratskhelia To score anytime @ 8/5

Paris Saint-Germain’s strong finish to the season has been heavily influenced by outstanding attacker Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The 25-year-old netted twice in the opening leg of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich (boosting his competition tally to 10 goals) and was a constant danger in the return match in Bavaria.

Kvaratskhelia has been less effective in Ligue 1, scoring seven times in 26 matches, although three of those goals have come in his last three appearances.

The Georgian seems to be hitting peak form at the business end of the season and could be about to have the final say in the title race.

Disciplined defences may keep things tight

Tip 3 – Under 2.5 goals @ 33/20

PSG’s 5-4 victory at home to Bayern Munich was one of the greatest matches in Champions League history, but it looks like an outlier when compared to the team’s recent results.

Three of the Parisiens’ last four European games featured fewer than three goals, and there was more low-scoring fare at the weekend with Desire Doue’s goal sealing a single-goal success at home to Brest.

Luis Enrique’s side have kept clean sheets in five of their last six away games and they will be looking to build from a solid platform against Lens, who were beaten 2-0 at the Parc des Princes earlier in the campaign.

Lens will be looking to turn the tables, but the scene is set for a tight contest with under 2.5 goals making plenty of appeal at odds-against.
