Premier League Gameweek 3 Tips: Burnley To Pile Pressure on Amorim
There are some fascinating fixtures in Gameweek 3 of the Premier League with six matches on Saturday and four games, including Liverpool's Anfield clash with Arsenal, on Sunday.
We have picked out four of this week's best bets including a selection from Old Trafford, where under-pressure Manchester United host Burnley on Saturday.
TIP 1 - BURNLEY OR DRAW DOUBLE CHANCE @ 39/20
Manchester United vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)
A home game against Burnley is not one of the Premier League's most daunting fixtures but nothing seems to be straightforward for Manchester United at the moment.
The Red Devils' penalty-shootout defeat to League Two side Grimsby in the EFL Cup on Wednesday turned up the heat on manager Ruben Amorim and United have to be opposed on Saturday.
They did not play badly in their 1-0 home loss to Arsenal or last weekend's 1-1 draw at Fulham, where Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty.
However, confidence is clearly low after a winless start to the campaign and Burnley, who were outstanding defensively in last season's Championship, look a nice price to avoid defeat.
The Clarets drew 1-1 on their last visit to Old Trafford in April 2024 and they followed up last weekend's 2-0 win over Sunderland with an EFL Cup victory over Derby.
TIP 2 - ANTOINE SEMENYO TO BE FIRST GOALSCORER @ 15/2
Tottenham vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 3pm)
Tottenham are bidding to make it three league wins out of three under new boss Thomas Frank but they face a classy Bournemouth side this weekend.
The Cherries should have won at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last term as Spurs fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.
Bournemouth's first game of 2025-26 was a dramatic 4-2 loss at champions Liverpool, where Antoine Semenyo scored both goals for the visitors.
Only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer had more shots than Semenyo's 81 in last season's Premier League and he is worth backing to open the scoring in north London.
TIP 3 - MANCHESTER CITY TO WIN @ 41/50
Brighton vs Manchester City (Sunday, 2pm)
Are Manchester City back or not? It's a question that punters, City fans and maybe even Pep Guardiola are struggling to answer after their first two games of the new season.
They looked terrific in their opening 4-0 win at Wolves, where Erling Haaland scored twice and summer signings Tijjani Reijnders claimed a goal and an assist on his Premier League debut.
Last weekend's 2-0 home defeat to bogey team Tottenham brought City down to earth but they should take maximum points at Brighton on Sunday.
The Seagulls took four points off City last season but the Citizens had won five of the previous six meetings between the clubs and Brighton have stumbled out of the traps, conceding a late equaliser at home to Fulham and losing at Everton.
TIP 4 - OVER 1.5 ARSENAL GOALS @ 6/4
Liverpool vs Arsenal (Sunday, 4.30pm)
There is no doubt about the biggest match of Gameweek 3 as champions Liverpool host title rivals Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.
Four of the last five league meetings between the clubs have ended in draws, including a pair of thrilling 2-2s last season.
Both teams have won their first two games but Liverpool's defence looked shaky in a 4-2 home win over Bournemouth and Monday's 3-2 victory at 10-man Newcastle.
Backing Arsenal to score at least twice at Anfield could be the way to go, despite the absence of inspirational winger Bukayo Saka.
The England man suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend's 5-0 rout of Leeds but captain Martin Odegaard should be fit and summer signings Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres add real menace to Arsenal's attacking unit.
The Gunners, unbeaten in their last 22 league games against the traditional big six, should play their part in another entertaining clash between the top two teams in the title betting.
