Hungarian Grand Prix Tips: Norris can hit back in title fight
From the fast and flowing forest circuit of Spa Francorchamps last week, a completely different test awaits the F1 teams and drivers at the tight and twisty dustbowl that is the Hungaroring.
Last year's Hungarian Grand Prix saw Oscar Piastri claim his maiden Formula 1 victory, but he arrives this time leading the world championship by 16 points.
Tip 1 - Lando Norris to win @ 8/5
Max Verstappen won the sprint race in Belgium to remind everyone that you can never count him out. However, the Grand Prix demonstrated that the world championship battle is a straight fight between McLaren drivers Piastri and Lando Norris.
The pair were in a race of their own at Spa, crossing the finish line 20 seconds clear of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari in third and, despite the very different circuit this week, it's hard to look past the papaya cars for a likely winner.
Piastri won in Budapest last year, but only after he sneaked past pole-sitter Norris at the start. Later in the race a team order had to be issued after an unusual strategy choice saw Norris emerge in the lead after the pitstops. The Englishman let Piastri back past him, but not before setting a string of fast laps to prove a point.
Despite trailing Piastri by 16 points this year, Norris has looked the faster driver as often as not and his form has improved since his car was fitted with a new suspension, curing a handling issue.
He looked a little unlucky not to win in Belgium after taking pole position, but can go into the four-week summer break on a positive note by winning in Hungary.
Tip 2 - Yuki Tsunoda top 10 finish @ 5/4
Being promoted to the senior Red Bull team from Racing Bulls has become a career-killer and Yuki Tsunoda is the latest to have been handed that poisoned chalice.
Driving as team-mate to four-time Verstappen is no easy task, but Tsunoda had arguably his strongest outing of the year in Belgium last time.
He was just 0.3 seconds off Verstappen's pace in qualifying, but his chance of picking up any points was ruined by the team waiting far too long to switch him from wet tyres to slicks.
Belgium was the first race for Red Bull with Laurent Mekies as team principal, and Tsunoda, who worked under the Frenchman last year at his previous team, has been boosted by the personnel change.
He has a good record at the Hungaroring and could be worth a bet at odds-against to break his six-race points drought.
Tip 3 - Gabriel Bortoleto top 10 finish @ 9/4
Last year's Formula 2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto has been outshone by most of his fellow rookies for the majority of the year, but he is getting to grips with F1 machinery judging by his recent upturn in results.
His Sauber has also been boosted by an upgrade and he scored points in Austria as well as in Belgium last week, which are the last two races he finished.
The Brazilian is a big price for another top-ten result this weekend.
