England vs Ireland Six Nations Betting Tips

Having suffered Calcutta Cup disappointment at Murrayfield once again, Steve Borthwick’s England will be determined to bounce back at the first time of asking when they host Ireland at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

England were on a 12-game winning streak before their 31-20 defeat against Scotland last Saturday and they have a quick opportunity to get their 2026 Six Nations title hopes back on track when they face Ireland at Twickenham.

The Irish are yet to hit top gear in this tournament, but with some big changes in selection, head coach Andy Farrell will be hoping they can go toe-to-toe with England at Rugby HQ this weekend.

Ireland can’t be underestimated

It’s been a time of transition for Ireland, with big names retiring and recent injuries not helping their cause in this Six Nations so far.

A heavy defeat to France in Saint-Denis was followed by a nail-biting 20-7 win over Italy at the Aviva Stadium last time out in Dublin.

Neither performance was convincing and, with that, Farrell has decided to make some big changes to his starting XV.

The biggest comes at No.10, with Sam Prendergast dropping out of the 23-man squad and Jack Crowley getting the opportunity to impress from the off.

With more international experience and a better defender, Crowley’s selection looks a smart choice and could be the key in Ireland returning to form here.

Winning five of their last six games against the English, the men in green have a strong record in this fixture.

England’s shortcomings were shown against Scotland and with nerves perhaps shaken in the Red Rose camp, Ireland, with a generous +11.5 handicap, gets the green light here.

Pollock to produce fireworks

Many England fans have been calling for Henry Pollock to be given a starting role and Borthwick has finally named the Northampton Saints star in his back row to begin the game.

With little time to make an impact at Murrayfield, Pollock now has an opportunity to impress in his first Test start in a monumental game for both teams this weekend.

Pollock has an impressive tryscoring record for a back-rower, scoring eight tries in 16 matches for both club and country this season.

A youngster who seems to rise to the big occasion, Pollock is backed to produce a tryscoring performance at Twickenham this weekend.

Baloucone to dance through the English defence

A player who stood out with his attacking display against Italy, Robert Baloucone is a player to look out for in the anytime tryscorer market this weekend.

Scoring what proved to be a crucial third try for Ireland in that victory against the Azzurri in Dublin, Baloucone showed how dangerous he can be near the opposition tryline.

With a combination of speed and excellent footwork, Baloucone to dance his way through the England defence, which has struggled on the fringes, appeals here.
