Six Nations Tips: England to be kingmakers for Irish… or Scots

The 2026 Six Nations all comes down to this.

England take on France in a scenario many thought would be the showdown to decide the destination of the title.

Instead, England are the tournament also-rans and France, while still the favourites to come out on top, have had their air of invincibility demolished in a quite incredible defeat to Scotland in round four – a match in which all three of our best bets landed!

The permutations are relatively simple.

France head into Super Saturday top of the standings and will secure the Six Nations title with a win over England if Scotland fail to beat Ireland earlier in the day.

Even if Scotland do win in Dublin, France’s superior points difference means victory in Paris would almost certainly be enough.

Scotland sit second and travel to Dublin knowing a win could put them in position to claim their first ever Six Nations title, particularly if England can upset France later that evening.

Ireland are two points behind France and must beat Scotland while hoping England defeat the leaders to keep their championship hopes alive.

England are the kingmakers, but how will the game go? Here are three tips we like for the match in Paris…

Tip 1 – England to win by 1-12 points @ 23/4

Hear us out. England haven’t been as bad as the results suggest yet devastating defeats to Italy, Scotland, and Ireland mean only Wales sit below them in the table.

However, they have still produced flashes that suggest Steve Borthwick’s men are not as far off the pace as results might indicate.

In each of those matches there were periods where England controlled territory, created chances and looked capable of matching the best teams in the championship.

Against Scotland they showed attacking intent and scored some well-worked tries, while the trip to Italy also produced long spells of pressure where England dominated possession.

The finishing touch was often missing but the platform was there.

Indeed only Saturday’s opponents, France, have registered more entries into the opposition 22m so far.

Surely it is only a matter of time before they convert those attacking platforms into meaningful returns.

What you need to win: England to win the match and finish up to 12 points ahead of France

Tip 2 – England to win & under 60.5 points at 17/2

No team kicks the ball more than this England one.

They like to get territory and go from there. It’s a pragmatic approach but, when it works, it can limit the offensive prowess of the opposition.

That approach naturally slows the tempo of matches and reduces the number of high-scoring exchanges. By turning games into territorial battles, England often limit the attacking rhythm of their opponents and keep scorelines tighter than expected.

If England control the kicking battle and spend long stretches playing in the right areas of the pitch, the game could become a grind rather than a shootout.

In that scenario, a lower-scoring contest with England edging the result looks like a good option.

What you need to win: England to win the match and both teams to score fewer than 61 points combined

Tip 3 – Louis Bielle-Biarrey to score first try @ 11/2

Louis Bielle-Biarrey has been one of the standout finishers of this year’s Six Nations and sits top of the try-scoring charts heading into the final round.

The electric French winger has shown a real knack for being in the right place at the right time, turning half-chances into points with his blistering pace and sharp support lines.

France’s attacking style also plays perfectly into his strengths. With the hosts looking to move the ball wide at speed, Bielle-Biarrey often finds himself isolated against defenders or with space to exploit on the outside.

When France build pressure, he is frequently the player finishing moves in the corner.

Against an England side that have conceded tries out wide at times during the tournament, the opportunities should be there once again.

If France generate their usual attacking momentum, Bielle-Biarrey looks well placed to add to his impressive try tally and we think he can register it early.
