Six Nations Outright Betting Tips: Back England to Outplay France
The Six Nations is in sight, and we’ve looked into all the outright markets ahead of all the hard-hitting action taking place over the next few weeks.
Defending champions France may be the favourites, but we like the look of England coming into this tournament. They are in sparkling form and there’s some good value in backing them to win it.
Ready for our outright betting tips lineup? We’ve picked out three punts well worth a look before the tournament gets underway.
Tip 1 – England to win the tournament @ 9/4
Steve Borthwick’s men are on an incredible run. They are undefeated in their last 11 games, averaging 35.1 points per match, and are playing eye-catching, attractive rugby.
They can count impressive victories against New Zealand, Australia, and France in that set of fixtures, with the latter a 26-25 victory kickstarting that run.
They face Wales, a team that is really struggling at the moment, and Scotland in the opening two games of the Six Nations. Win those two and they could be well on their way to glory.
France are a brilliant rugby team and it’s easy to see why they’re seen as favourites…
But England have a great shot at glory here, and the prospect of beating France in the tournament’s final game in Paris feels a mouth-watering prospect.
Tip 2 – Paolo Garbisi top points scorer @ 28/1 EW
This is a long shot, but hear us out.
The top points scorer is often an award handed to consistent kicking and involvement in scoring opportunities. He’s already proven he can score points at this level, as in 2024 he finished fifth in the point-scoring standings with 31 to his name.
He’s only gotten better since then with experience, and this Italy side are no pushovers. They recently racked up two consecutive wins over Australia, with Garbisi playing a key role in the latter victory.
It’s hard to see him outscoring the mercurial Thomas Ramos, but 28/1 is a massive price and he’s a real talent.
Tip 3 – Thomas Ramos to win Player of the Championship @ 14/1
Before we dig into the numbers, let’s lay out our reasoning for this market with our making of the man.
Thomas Ramos’s versatility and high-impact moments make him stand out in a star-studded field. He’s capable of stepping up under pressure with long-range penalties or conversions, quick passes or long ones, fleet-footedness or sharp turns.
He is one of international rugby’s most prolific point scorers, amassing 489 points in 47 caps for France and over 2,000 points in club rugby with Toulouse at the time of writing.
We think he can outshine Antoine Dupont for a tilt at the crown.
