The 2025 African Cup of Nations sees the continent’s top teams battle it out for glory across almost a month’s worth of action.

Ivory Coast will look to defend their crown but face serious competition from host-nation Morocco, as well as previous winners Algeria and Egypt.

When and where is the Africa Cup of Nations 2025?

The 35th edition of the tournament will be played between 21st December 2025 and 18th January 2026, across nine venues in six cities in Morocco. The final will be staged at the 68,700-capacity Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Who are the AFCON betting favourites?

Hosts Morocco enter the competition as big 11/4 favourites, despite having won AFCON only once back in 1976. Two-time winners Algeria are second-favourites at 6/1, the same price as seven-time champions Egypt.

Also at 6/1 are 2021 champions Senegal, while Nigeria are 10/1 and the Ivory Coast at 12/1.

The 2025 AFCON is available to watch on Channel 4.

Egypt have won the competition the most times with seven, followed by Cameroon, who have won it five times.

There are several Premier League players expected to take part in the African Cup of Nations, including Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo (Man Utd), Iliman Ndiaye (Everton), Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait Nouri (Man City), and Noah Sadiki (Sunderland).

Sunderland will have the most players called up for the tournament, potentially losing eight players.

Botswana were the biggest odds before the tournament at 500/1.
