2026/27 UCL: Key Dates

The upcoming Champions League will follow the exact same schedule since the new format was introduced just over two years ago, where 36 teams compete in a league phase with only the top eight securing an automatic place in the next round.

Clubs that finish from ninth to 24th will contest the knockout phase play-offs to establish the other eight sides in the round of 16 – only then will the knockout phase begin.

• League Phase: 8 September 2026 – 27 January 2027
• Knockout Phase Play-Offs: 16/17 & 23/24 February 2027
