Women's FA Cup Final

Women's FA Cup Final Betting Tips

Chelsea have completed an unbeaten season in the Women’s Super League and would be delighted if they could add the FA Cup to their trophy cabinet in Sonia Bompastor’s first season at the helm, particularly after they were beaten 8-2 on aggregate by Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals last month.

To do that they will have to beat Manchester United, who claimed Wembley glory last year and have provided the champions with two tough tests during the league campaign.

Team news

Chelsea look set to be without forward Mayra Ramirez for the big occasion after she suffered a knee injury in their 1-0 win over United earlier this month, while Lauren James is still sidelined with the hamstring problem she suffered in the most recent international break.

United are sweating on the fitness of full-back Jayde Riviere, who faces a late test on her ankle problem, but they will at least have Aofie Mannion available after suspension.

Tip 1 – Draw @ 11/4

Questions were asked whether Chelsea could continue their Women’s Super League dominance following Emma Hayes’ departure, but it has been a seamless transition under new boss Bompastor and a FA Cup success would cap an excellent campaign.

Despite being outclassed in the Champions League by Barca they completed the league season unbeaten, which will undoubtedly give them plenty of confidence that they will be able to put the holders in their place at Wembley.

United, who finished a creditable third this term, did not finish the season in great form as they lost to the two teams that were above them, Chelsea and Arsenal, while earning draws against Manchester City and West Ham, but they have proved to be easily matched when they have locked horns with the Blues in the league.

Both of their encounters ended in 1-0 defeats, which should give United believe that they can stand up to Bompastor’s side, with extra determination to keep their hands on the trophy they won last year by seeing off Tottenham 4-0.

Chelsea sealed the title with their latest success over the Red Devils and have not really been firing on all cylinders since, so it would not be a surprise if the holders could take them to extra time, especially as the Blues scraped home with late goals in the semi-final and their final league game of the season, both against Liverpool.

Tip 2 – Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11

Chelsea needed a solitary strike from Sam Kerr to win the FA Cup when these two teams locked horns in 2023 and there does not look a great deal of scope for there to be a feast of goals.

It should not just be the scale of the occasion that encourages a cagey affair as the Blues have hardly been free-scoring in their recent matches.

Bompastor’s side needed an injury-time Aggie Beever-Jones goal to beat Liverpool last time out and a penalty in their penultimate league game to earn a 1-0 success over Tottenham.

Guro Reitan came to their rescue from the spot in their 1-0 win over United in November and a Lucy Bronze strike was enough to earn another win a few weeks ago, so there is a strong chance there may be limited goal action under the Wembley arch on Sunday.
