LAURA WOODS: ARSENAL’S TITLE TO LOSE, BUT IF THEY DO, I FEAR FOR ARTETA
ARSENAL’S TITLE TO LOSE
I think the win at Tottenham last week was absolutely massive.
If Arsenal had choked again, then I would have said Manchester City are the favourites for the title.
The performance against Spurs once they settled into the game was exactly what Arsenal needed.
It felt like the perfect fixture to get any lost belief back, especially after what happened at Wolves. Ultimately, as bad as Spurs have been of late, it’s still the North London Derby.
The Premier League is Arsenal’s to lose. They’re five points clear albeit having played a game more, and yes, they do still have to go to the Etihad.
My main concern is that City’s next set of fixtures are much more winnable than Arsenal's. So Arsenal need to dig deep and maybe get another few dogs in the training ground – I’ll let you pick the names!

GUNNERS SIMPLY HAVE TO WIN SOMETHING
For me, Mikel Arteta shouldn’t be sacked if Arsenal don’t win the league. You can’t sack a manager who has raised the standards at the club this much.
Having said that, this is an incredible squad and Arsenal must win something this season. They just have to, or whether I like it or not, the noise will begin to get very loud around Arteta.
I also wonder what would happen if you brought in a manager who has been there and done it. This is a team with such talent that is so close to getting over the line and has been for a few years
What is actually stopping them from getting over that line? Because if and when they do, I think more titles and more trophies will start to come.
Is it the manager or something else? I can’t be the only one wondering that.
Whatever it is, if Arsenal let this title slip, and don’t pick up trophies, I do think the tide will turn on the manager – and that’s not something I want to see.
It would be horrible to deal with, as well.
Arsenal fans wouldn’t be able to go into work the Monday after the league ends if they don’t win it!
We won’t be able to show our faces in the local pub until the World Cup starts and there’s another distraction. It’s impossible to imagine.
SPURS CANNOT GET RELEGATED
Tottenham won’t be relegated. It just won’t happen.
There are three worse teams than them, and they have much more quality in their team; it won’t happen.
However, the fact that we’re even talking about it is very damaging. How has this happened?
How has a club consistently finishing in the top four, that were Champions League finalists not too many years ago, Europa League winners last season, who’ve had managers like Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte, now found itself in this astonishing position?
It’s crazy. And even as an Arsenal fan, this shouldn’t be happening. That stadium alone is world-class. You can’t be playing in the Championship with it. It shouldn’t even be in the conversation!
Spurs have to get it right now, or they’ll start to really decay as a club.
When established teams start to dance with relegation, it’s usually after years of failings. To use an old phrase - it happens gradually, then suddenly.
They can’t let that happen. We need to keep the North London Derby, for a start!
