2024-25 PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES: OPENING WEEKEND, DERBIES, FESTIVE SCHEDULE & FINAL DAY

The excitement for the 2024-25 Premier League season has begun as the best teams across England have learned their fixtures for the upcoming campaign.

This Premier League year gets started on Friday 16th August when Marco Silva’s Fulham travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. It concludes nine months and nine days later on Sunday 25th May with all 20 teams in action.

Manchester City begin the defence of their crown against the team which proved something of an Achilles heel last season: Chelsea.

The Blues managed two draws against Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut last term – including a thrilling 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge – and while it could be a difficult opener the Citizens have the softest run-in according to Opta data with Southampton away, Bournemouth at home and Fulham away.

Ipswich Town are returning to the summit of English football for the first time in 23 years and the Tractor Boys will face the team they last played in the Premier League, Liverpool. It ended 5-0 to the Merseyside outfit back in 2001-02, will we see a different result more than two decades later?

Fans can also start circling the derby days in their calendar, with a litany of intense rivalries spread across the Premier League season. Tottenham vs Arsenal in the battle for North London supremacy is the first on the docket, while the first Manchester Derby spices up the festive period on 14th December.

Speaking of festive fixtures, there is plenty of action to keep football fans warm this winter, including an enticing tie between Wolves and Manchester United at Molineux. Last season, a 97th-minute goal from youngster Kobbie Mainoo stole a 4-3 victory for the Red Devils at the death in the same fixture.

Nine months and nine days of thrills, drama and a lorryload of goals come to a head on Sunday 25th May. Who will be crowned champions? Which team can stave off relegation on the final day? Can a shock contender get European football?

Take a look below for BetMGM’s breakdown of the key dates for the 2024-25 Premier League season.
