Premier League Gameweek 7 Tips: 13/1 Acca
There are four Premier League matches scheduled for Saturday, with Chelsea hosting Liverpool in an evening blockbuster at Stamford Bridge, then another five games on Sunday.
We have picked out the best bets from the weekend matches, creating a five-game accumulator which pays 13/1.
Tip 1 – Arsenal to beat West Ham @ 1/5
Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 Champions League success over Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night and the Gunners will expect a similarly straightforward success when West Ham arrive on Saturday.
The Hammers salvaged a point at Everton on Monday night to give new manager Nuno Espirito Santo a decent start to life in London, but this road mission seems likely to prove too challenging for a West Ham side in a state of flux.
Arsenal have become title favourites after an impressive start to the Premier League campaign and Mikel Arteta will be acutely aware that home victories against weaker teams are essential if his side are to justify their market leadership. Expect an intense and dominant performance.
Tip 2 – Manchester United to beat Sunderland @ 12/25
The positivity at the Emirates is in stark contrast to the doom and gloom around Old Trafford, so the visit of Sunderland comes at a good time for beleaguered Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim.
This is a must-win fixture for Amorim, who may well lose his job if failing to claim all three points against the Black Cats.
His insistence on his favoured formation has been angering United supporters, so a tense afternoon can be expected in the red half of Manchester, but there is just so much more quality in the home ranks than in the Sunderland line-up.
No matter how Amorim uses his players, they should be good enough to see off Sunderland.
Tip 3 – Chelsea to beat Liverpool @ 37/20
Liverpool have done well to earn 15 points from six Premier League matches this season without finding the level which made them so successful last term.
Their lack of swagger has seen them lose their status of title favourites, despite them having a two-point lead on Arsenal.
The Reds’ luck may run out at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, as Chelsea appear ready to take all three points.
The Blues have suffered a red card in three of their last four games, which has negatively impacted their league campaign, but they are dangerous if they can keep 11 players on the pitch.
Liverpool have got some injury concerns, particularly with goalkeeper Alisson, who appears certain to miss the trip to Chelsea, while they were defeated at Galatasaray on Tuesday night.
Tip 4 – Newcastle to beat Nottingham Forest @ 13/20
Sunday's most attractive wager is arguably Newcastle, who can take advantage of a Nottingham Forest side who are still reeling from a managerial switch.
Nuno Espirito Santo guided Forest to European football last season, but his relationship with the Forest bigwigs quickly deteriorated and he was sacked just three games into the season.
Not only that, Forest's bewildered players have had to deal with the unusual methods of new manager Ange Postecoglou, who likes to adopt a gung-ho style.
Such tactics at Newcastle could be reckless, given the quality in the Magpies squad, so it is difficult to see Forest repelling their hosts.
Tip 5 – Manchester City to beat Brentford @ 8/13
Brentford are also adjusting to life under a new manager and Keith Andrews has much to prove.
His vastly more experienced Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola can be fancied to mastermind a comfortable three points for the Citizens at the Gtech Community Stadium.
City have gone six games unbeaten in all competitions, restoring confidence in the most dominant side in modern English football.
