BETMGM GOLDEN GOALS MD38: FINAL WEEK DRAMA GOES GLOBAL

The final weekend of the Premier League season is here – and Golden Goals is going global for the occasion.

For the first time this season, we’re crossing borders with one La Liga match and a European final joining four fixtures from the Premier League to round off the campaign with a bumper Matchday 38.

Six matches, three competitions, one final shot at predicting your way to the £1 million jackpot.

And there’s still plenty to play for. Liverpool look to sign off at Anfield as champions, Arsenal head to Southampton hoping to secure second and Manchester City travel to west London to face Fulham.

Manchester United and Aston Villa close out their campaigns against one another while, later in the matchday, La Liga champions Barcelona travel to Athletic Bilbao.

We then round off the season with the Europa Conference League final between Chelsea and Real Betis in Wrocław.

Successfully predicting the results of all six games will net you up to £1 million! Get the full Golden Goals breakdown, prize info and T&Cs here.

To help you with your correct score selections we’ve run the numbers on all six Matchday 38 games – and there’s a Bet Builder for each too.

Here’s how we see it unfolding…

Fulham 0-2 Manchester City

Sun 25th May, 4pm

Thanks to Brighton’s win over champions Liverpool in midweek, only one of these teams now has an eye on European qualification.

It’s likely just as well Fulham don’t go into this requiring a win; their head-to-head record against City is as bad as it gets with 17 games resulting in 17 losses across all competitions.

KDB Record

The last time the west London side beat them was back in 2009 courtesy of a Clint Dempsey brace in a 3-1 victory.

City are on the verge of securing Champions League football despite going trophyless for the first time since 2017 and a result on the final day of the season is bound to be seen as a statement – especially in Kevin De Bruyne’s last Premier League game for City.

The Citizens average the most corners out of any team this season (6.78 per game) while Fulham have conceded two or more goals in four of their last five games.

That sets the stage for a Bet Builder worth watching: 13/5 for De Bruyne to score or assist, City to take the most corners and City to score over 1.5 goals.

Manchester United 1-3 Aston Villa

Sun 25th May, 4pm

Manchester United’s terrible domestic campaign finally comes to an end – but not before Aston Villa have a chance to heap more misery on them.

United are currently on their longest Premier League winless run of eight games, while the defeat at home to West Ham in their last Old Trafford outing was their joint-record ninth of the season.

The contrast in form could not be more stark. Villa have won eight of their last 10, with the only real blip being a last-gasp defeat at Manchester City.

Man United Form

They do have a poor record here, just one win in 15 years, but that will count for little with Champions League football potentially at stake for the Villans.

United are second bottom of the form table, above only Spurs, and their one point from the last six games is lower than all three relegated sides. Villa are top of that form table – and will make it a fourth win in a row here.

Ollie Watkins’ 16 Premier League goals is his second-best tally ever and he in particular will fancy adding to that in this one.

As such, 13/5 for Watkins to score, Villa to win and the game to have over 2.5 goals appeals as the Villans go hell for leather to make it back-to-back Champions League campaigns.

Southampton 1-3 Arsenal

Sun 25th May, 4pm It’s been a brutal ride for Southampton at St Mary’s this season.

Relegated well before the business end of the fixture list, the Saints haven’t won a home league match since November and have shipped 45 in 18 on their own patch.

Their recent record against Arsenal here is better than you’d think – two wins and a draw in the last four – but this version of the Gunners has more about them.

Mikel Arteta’s side arrive off the back of a 1–0 win over Newcastle on Matchday 37, their first clean sheet in a month and a timely reminder of control under pressure.

TOTW

Bukayo Saka remains their most reliable attacking outlet. He’s produced eight goal contributions in nine career appearances against the Saints, including a goal and two assists in this season’s reverse fixture.

The Gunners have won all of their last 13 final-day fixtures and haven’t lost one in over 20 years – and they won’t start here. Against a side already down and still leaking, there should be space to cut loose.

Arsenal to win, over 3.5 goals and Saka to score or assist at 13/4 is a sensible final-day Bet Builder that reflects the gulf in class between second and bottom.

Liverpool 4-1 Crystal Palace

Sun 25th May, 4pm

For the third time in four seasons, Liverpool have made Anfield the Premier League's most formidable stronghold with 14 wins, 41 goals scored and just 15 conceded heading into the final day.

Palace have undoubtedly improved under Oliver Glasner – it was them, not Liverpool, playing and winning last weekend's FA Cup final after all – but their away record tells a story similar to seasons past.

They have failed to win away to any of the top seven this season and were hit for five in the league by both Manchester City and Newcastle.

Final Day

Liverpool, meanwhile, love a farewell flourish in front of their fans. They’ve won seven of their last eight final home league games, scoring three or more in half of them.

The weight of history is on their side too: in title-winning seasons the Reds have only ever lost their final home match once. That was 103 years ago.

Mohamed Salah remains one of the champions' most reliable threats in this or any era.

The Egyptian is chasing an unprecedented 20-goal-20-assist – or even 30-goal-20-assist – Premier League campaign and has racked up 13 goal contributions in 15 games against Palace.

Salah to score or assist, a Liverpool win, both teams to score and over 3.5 goals at 13/4 feels like a final-day script Anfield has seen before... and one it’s ready to deliver again.

Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Barcelona

Sun 25th May, 8pm

It’s away-day firepower versus a steadfast home defence at San Mames as Athletic Club look to end their La Liga season on a high by finally getting one over on Barcelona in the league.

They’ve beaten the Catalans several times in cup competitions over the past decade but not once in La Liga since 2013.

And while Athletic Club boast the division’s best home defensive record – just 10 goals conceded in 18 matches – Barca have been imperious on the road and top the away form table overall having scored a league-best 47 away goals.

Athletic vs Barca

With Champions League football already secured, Athletic have no real need to win this one. They can still be overtaken in fourth by Villarreal, though, and have an outside shot of usurping Atletico Madrid in third themselves.

But they will have to stop a red-hot Lamine Yamal to have any hope.

The 17-year-old has four goals and four assists in his last nine appearances, including a decisive showing in the Catalan Derby. Running mate Raphinha, with six goal involvements in his last six, remains an eminent danger too.

Only one of the last six meetings between these two has featured more than three goals, making Barcelona to win, under 3.5 goals and Yamal to score or assist at 21/4 look a smart final-day selection.

Real Betis 1-2 Chelsea

Wed 28th May, 8pm

The final Golden Goals Matchday 38 match of the season is a European final that pits a debutant against a relative old head.

Betis have reached their first-ever European final, somewhat surprisingly propelled by Manchester United loanee Antony.

The much-maligned Brazilian winger has seven goal contributions in eight Conference League games, including a pivotal goal-and-assist performance in the semi-final second leg against Fiorentina.

Chelsea, aiming for their ninth European trophy, have navigated the Conference League with ease and top the charts in most key metrics having won 11 of the 12 matches they've played.

Antony

The question now: does Enzo Maresca go with the side that got him here or draft in Premier League regulars like Cole Palmer?

Palmer has just 263 minutes in Europe this season – though he has one assist – while Marc Guiu, the breakout star of the Conference League campaign with six in six, has been sidelined since February.

That clears the way for Nicolas Jackson to step in off the back of a league suspension and two goals in two 45-minute Conference League cameos. Squad depth and European pedigree could edge it.

Chelsea to win, under 3.5 total goals and Jackson to score or assist at 18/5 is a compelling option that backs the Blues to end a run of 27 major men’s finals involving Spanish teams having Spanish winners.
