RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich Tips: Bavarians to Run Roughshod

With the best first half to a Bundesliga season in history now behind them, reigning champions Bayern Munich look every bit on course to reclaim their crown for a record 34th time.

Saturday’s trip to Leipzig is their next proving ground and we’re expecting another dominant showing at Red Bull Arena.

You might too when you see the tips we’ve picked out for the occasion…

Tip 1 – Over 4.5 match goals @ 15/8

Key to Bayern’s conquering of the Bundesliga has been their unrelenting ability to find the back of the net, scoring almost double any other team with 66 goals and only 13 conceded for a +53 goal difference.

They’ve scored 15 goals in the last three league fixtures alone – one fewer than half of Leipzig’s entire tally for the season (32).

Much has been said about one of the most talented front threes in Europe – Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise – but their contributions only make up 38 of that 66 total with the likes of Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry adding to the haul in recent weeks.

They clearly took Bayer Leverkusen’s historic invincible season as a personal insult and are trying their damndest to not only win the title unbeaten but do it in the most convincing way possible.

RB Leipzig were the first side to feel their wrath this term, losing 6-0 on the opening day, and they look set to feel it again on Matchday 18.

Tip 2 – A goal in both halves @ 7/25

First-half goals, second-half goals; it’s all the same to what Vincent Kompany is building.

In fact, only two teams have been able to stop Bayern from converting in both halves this season: Borussia Monchengladbach on Matchday 8 and Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 9.

Leipzig vs Bayern Munich Tale of the Tape

That’s 15 games where they have scored in both halves so far this season – not counting the odd Champions League, DFB-Pokal and club friendly matches, where they have been just as ruthless across 90 minutes.

Bayern scored in both halves in the 5-1 win at Allianz Arena last season and look primed to do so again, having now done so in nine consecutive gameweeks.

It’s a truly absurd stat for a potentially era-defining season that should continue against the third-best team in Germany – even with home advantage – and at 23/20 is well worth backing if this game pans out as expected.

Tip 3 – Harry Kane to score 2+ goals @ 7/2

Scoring 20 goals in a season is the benchmark for many of Europe’s top strikers but to achieve that at the midway point requires someone truly special – and Bayern certainly have that in Kane.

The England international is on course to deliver his most successful season in front of goal yet with 31 across all competitions, including 20 in the Bundesliga; 10 more than the Bundesliga’s next best goalscorer in Deniz Undav of Stuttgart.

We’ve tipped him to score a brace at the weekend for one simple reason: he’s already shown he can do it multiple times this season.

Kane has scored a brace in six games across all competitions so far, not to mention a trifecta of hat-tricks in the league. The first of those arrived against Leipzig in the aforementioned 6-0 victory.

If this is to be a high-scoring game, expect the England captain to play a leading part in it.
