Liechtenstein vs Wales Betting Tips

Qualifying for next summer's World Cup reaches a conclusion over the next week and there is an almighty scrap in Group J where Belgium, North Macedonia and Wales are locked in a three-way battle for the crucial top two places.

Belgium are in the box spot a point ahead of North Macedonia while Wales start the final two fixtures in third, four points behind the group leaders and three points behind the Macedonians.

Plenty could change still and Wales can boost their chances of claiming a play-off spot at the very least when they head to group whipping-boys Liechtenstein on Saturday in a 5pm kick-off. We've picked out three of the best bets for this contest.

Tip 1 - Wales to win 3-0 @ 17/4

Wales were well beaten 4-2 by Belgium last month and they have been far from convincing in this qualifying campaign, but they remain in a strong position to secure a play-off spot and they can enhance their claims with a comfortable victory over bottom side Liechtenstein.

The Dragons have lost on both occasions to Belgium but they have taken care of business against the lesser nations in the section, as highlighted by two wins over Kazakhstan, a win over Liechtenstein and an impressive away draw with North Macedonia.

Averaging over two goals per game across their six matches, Wales have shown a decent cutting edge and they can use that to their advantage with a comfortable 3-0 win over Liechtenstein on Saturday.

Liechtenstein have shown to be the weakest side in the European section of World Cup qualifying and they come into this round of fixtures on the back of ten straight losses and it seems on this occasion that it could be a case of how many Wales win by this weekend.

Six of Wales’ last nine matches have featured at least three goals while Liechtenstein have been conceding goals at a rate of three per game across their last six home matches, so backing a 3-0 away win looks a solid punting strategy.

Tip 2 - Over 10.5 Wales corners @ 9/10

Wales are likely to dominate this contest and with that they are expected to come out on top in most metrics, so on that basis, backing them to secure a hefty corner count could also yield a profit in a match where minimal value lies in the markets.

The Dragons thumped Liechtenstein 3-0 when they last met in June and on that occasion they forced 12 corners at the Cardiff City Stadium. A similar outcome looks likely this weekend so backing Wales to win at least 11 flag kicks on Saturday can't be ruled out.

The need to win is great for Wales, who are chasing down North Macedonia in second spot and that could lead to a front-footed approach from Craig Bellamy's side, as has been shown in previous outings.

Tip 3 - Joe Rodon to score @ 18/5

Wales have scored 13 goals across this qualifying campaign and two of those have been scored by centre-back Joe Rodon.

The Leeds United man scored in his last outing against Belgium and was also on the mark in the last meeting against Liechtenstein. It's 18/5 that he gets on the scoresheet this weekend and that looks a price well worth taking with more notable goalscorers swerved due to a lack of value in the price.

Rodon has scored three goals in 12 matches for club and country this term and his threat from set-pieces makes him a viable anytime goalscorer option on Saturday.
