Newbury 1.50 – John Francome Novices' Chase
I can’t see Regent’s Stroll (7/4 fav) getting beaten on his chasing debut.
He hasn’t got the run under his belt like some of the others in the line-up, but this is a horse the team have always rated incredibly highly. They’re hopeful he’s matured physically and mentally, and everyone is very excited about what he can do over fences.
Megan’s Tip: Regent’s Stroll WIN
Newbury 2.25 – 2m3f Handicap Chase
It could be a quickfire double for Paul Nicholls as I fancy Twinjets (11/4 fav).
He won at Fontwell despite not liking the track and I think Newbury will suit him much better. He could still be on the upgrade and the form of the win last time looks strong, so I make him the one to beat.
Megan’s Tip: Twinjets EW
Newbury 3.00 – Long Distance Hurdle
Impose Toi (15/8 fav) can take this out.
He could still have plenty of improvement in the locker at this trip and it was hard not to be impressed by how he won at Aintree last time.
This is a better race, but I’m not sold on Strong Leader (2/1), who can be a bit hot and cold and I thought he got a Sean Bowen special at Wetherby last time.
Impose Toi is admirably consistent and he looks ready for this step up in class. Nicky Henderson’s charge is a big player here.
