Tip 1 – The Vision & IShowSpeed to win @ 13/5
WrestleMania has always leveraged celebrity guests to draw as many eyes as possible.
The Usos and LA Night vs The Vision (Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed six-man tag on Night 1 is simply WWE’s latest attempt to create a viral moment – much like Bron Breakker’s devastating spear on the popular streamer at last year’s Royal Rumble.
Expect this match to be full of similar standout moments and surprises, with plenty of false finishes to boot, after all, they're up against one of the only tag teams to ever main event the Grandaddy of Them All.
Not to mention a certain Megastar, who’s never been one to shy away from the spotlight
Much has been made of the level of celebrity involvement at this year’s Mania, but a certain promoter once said: “controversy creates cash” in this business, and this is a prime example of exactly that.
It’s why we’re backing Theory and two of the most popular internet stars on the planet to steal the win in some fashion and continue building momentum as a group.
Tip 2 – Oba Femi to win @ 3/10
Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar is quite literally the biggest singles match on the card, and what a way to make your WrestleMania debut if you’re Femi.
The Nigerian powerhouse has taken to professional wrestling with ease, bringing an elite athletic background shaped by a level of intensity we’ve not seen since… well… the Next Big Thing himself.
The fact WWE have put the Ruler in this position says a lot before the bell even rings.
Only a certain calibre of star is given the chance to share the ring with Lesnar (your AJ Styles’, Drew McIntyres and Cody Rhodes’ of the world) – and even fewer are presented as a similar-sized beast.
And yet, week after week, Femi has gone blow-for-blow and throw-for-throw with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, looking more than comfortable in the process.
It’s to the point where it’s hard to see any scenario where Lesnar walks out with the win.
Simply put, where will you be when Oba Femi struts into the history books?
Tip 3 – CM Punk to win @ 2/1
The barbs CM Punk and Roman Reigns have thrown at one another in recent weeks have been as sharp and as spiky as some of ECW’s bloodiest matches.
Not that words will count for much in what should be one of the hardest-hitting affairs of the weekend should the last match of WrestleMania weekend live up to the hype.
This will be the OTC’s 11th WrestleMania main event (the most in history), so experience will certainly be on the side of the third-generation powerhouse, despite him being the younger of the two; a fact Reigns has pointed out multiple times.
Take nothing away from Punk here, though.
With age comes edge, and Punk’s got that in spades, which is why we’re putting our money on the Second City Saint here.
The World Heavyweight Champion’s desire to main event the Showcase of the Immortals is beyond documented at this point, and while he did get his moment in a triple-threat last year, it’s just not the same as what’s on offer here.
One-on-one.
Title on the line.
Last match of the weekend.
Yeah, that’s an opportunity Punk won’t want to miss.
Two nights, one Vegas-sized Acca. Combine all our WrestleMania 42 picks for 13/1 here.
