UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 Betting Tips
The new Champions League began two weeks ago and the second game week has already rolled around, with the biggest teams in European football back in action in what should be an enthralling few days of action.
The fixtures will come thick and fast and here are the best bets for matchday two, which runs from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Over 3.5 goals in Borussia Dortmund vs Celtic @ 6/4
Celtic picked up one of the biggest results in their recent European history when beating Slovan Bratislava 5-1 and they can play their part in another entertaining affair when they face Borussia Dortmund in their second clash.
Three of BVB’s last four games have gone over 3.5 goals and they put three past Club Brugge in their Champions League opener.
Both of these teams have the attacking talents to put on a real show in Germany.
Over 3.5 goals in Bayer Leverkusen vs AC Milan @ 29/20
Bayer Leverkusen held title rivals Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw at the weekend, but they look likely to be involved in a much higher scoring game when they host Milan in their second Champions League clash.
The visitors fell to a 3-1 defeat in their first game, but have since followed that with a pair of league wins against Inter Milan and Lecce.
Four of Milan’s seven games this season have produced over 3.5 goals and they face a Leverkusen side who put four past Feyenoord in their first European match of the season.
Viktor Gyokeres to score at any time vs PSV Eindhoven @ 6/4
Viktor Gyokeres has had a meteoric rise in recent years, going from an unwanted striker at Brighton to one of the most highly thought of forwards in world football.
The Swedish striker has 10 league goals in seven games for Sporting this term and he opened his Champions League account against Lille two weeks ago.
Gyokeres is fancied to get on the scoresheet again when he faces a PSV Eindhoven side that conceded three against Juventus in their last European game.
Atalanta to beat Shakhtar Donetsk @ 16/25
Atalanta nearly beat Arsenal in their first Champions League clash and they should be able to get compensation against Shakhtar Donetsk here.
The Ukrainian side are winless in their last eight meetings with Italian teams, scoring just one goal across that run.
They held Bologna to a 0-0 draw in their opener, but lost the shot count 17-4 and Atalanta are a step up on those opponents. Take the away team to win this one.
Monaco to beat Dinamo Zagreb @ 4/6
Monaco have had one of the best starts to the new season in Europe, winning five and drawing one of their six league games and producing a big shock when getting the better of Barcelona in their Champions League opener.
They were the beneficiaries of a red card in that clash, but still had to put their opponents away and did so impressively.
Dinamo Zagreb suffered the biggest defeat in Champions League history in their opener, losing 9-2 to Bayern Munich and that will have severely dented their confidence.
The Croatians lost 4-1 to Slaven Belupo in their domestic league a few days later and they look likely to lose this clash too.
