CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MD2 TIPS: MBAPPE TO RUN RIOT IN KAZAKHSTAN

Europe’s elite are back in the Champions League and the group stage is already serving up some incredible dream matches, rematches and more.

We’re ready for Matchday 2 of the Champions League, but what about you? Here’s our three best bets for the action…

Tip 1 – Real Madrid to win & Kylian Mbappe to score 2+ goals vs Kairat Almaty @ 29/20

Kylian Mbappe was up to Kylian Mbappe things once again in Real Madrid’s opening Champions League fixture.

The Frenchman’s brace from the spot against a lively Marseille brought his tally to six goals in five games. That now stands at 10 in eight, putting him well on track for his most successful season to date.

Next up for Los Blancos is Kairat Almaty, a tenacious team from the Kazakhstan Premier League that went viral when being drawn with the 14-time Champions League winners.

A premature reaction, perhaps, for what could end up being a rugby score by the end of it.

Kairat kicked off their first-ever appearance in Europe’s grandest competition with a 4-1 battering at the hands of Sporting CP.

This will be Kairat’s first-ever Champions League game on home soil – one they’ll never forget if one of the best forwards in world football gets going.

Tip 2 – Bodo/Glimt Goalkeeper Over 3.5 Saves vs Tottenham @ 11/10

Familiar Europa League foes meet again, this time under the bright lights of the Champions League.

Will it be a different outcome this time around? Potentially, if the Eliteserien team’s goalkeeper can put in another incredible shift on the night.

In the semi-final second leg, Nikita Haikin faced a barrage of shots, with the eventual Europa League winners registering 24 attempts on goal. Despite heavy pressure, the Bodo keeper made four key saves.

The Norwegians will call on him once again this Wednesday when they welcome Thomas Frank and co. to Aspmyra Stadion, especially after his standout performance against Slavia Prague.

In that game he made eight saves in total – the joint-most of any keeper on Matchday 1, tied with Slavia counterpart Jindrich Stanek.

Tip 3 – Barcelona to win, Robert Lewandowski to score & both teams to score @ 18/5

Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain was the 2024/25 final many had dreamed of, if it weren’t for Inter’s incredible two-leg performance in what was arguably the greatest semi-final in Champions League history.

Luckily, we didn’t have to wait long to see it.

Both teams top their respective leagues, started their European campaign with a win on Matchday 1 and are tipped to go far in this competition – possibly all the way come 30th May 2026.

Barcelona have seven wins in the last nine European home games giving them the edge going into this one. It won’t be easy, though, with PSG scoring in six of their previous seven Champions League games.

Expect a high-energy clash where the best defence is to attack and outscore the opposition – a perfect stage for the indispensable Robert Lewandowski.

Poland’s finest footballing export is in superb form, scoring in his last two matches and cementing his place among Barcelona’s top 20 all-time goalscorers.

An occasion like this more than has his name on it.
