Belgian Grand Prix Betting Tips: Hulkenberg in the Points Again?

The F1 news cycle has been dominated by Christian Horner’s sacking from Red Bull Racing and how his departure impacts the future of Max Verstappen, but the Belgian Grand Prix offers us the chance to return our attention to the track as the 20 drivers prepare for a Sprint weekend at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps.

Lando Norris’ emotional win at his home British Grand Prix last time out has left the two McLaren drivers separated by just eight points at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings, while Nico Hulkenberg’s shock podium at the wet Silverstone was one of many talking points.

Tip 1 – Oscar Piastri to win @ 17/10

Norris’ confidence will have soared after the Briton secured back-to-back Grand Prix wins, slashing the gap at the top of the table to just eight points as we head into a crucial two-horse race in the second half of the season.

But Norris could find his charge for the World Drivers’ Championship dented by leader Oscar Piastri this weekend, as the Australian searches for his sixth Grand Prix win of the season.

Despite it being one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar, Piastri has finished second in both his F1 visits to Belgium, and he has only come outside the top three in one of his last 11 races.

Meanwhile, Norris has lost to his teammate in three of the last four Belgian Grands Prix, so you could back Piastri to bounce back in the Ardennes.

Tip 2 – Nico Hulkenberg to finish in the points @ 11/10

Hulkenberg enjoyed a career highlight at the British Grand Prix as he ended his long, long wait for a F1 podium, and he can continue to deliver for the improving Kick Sauber team at Spa.

Hulkenberg holds the record for most F1 races without a podium finish, but the tally will stop ticking upwards after his Silverstone success, which also ended a 13-year wait for a Sauber podium, illustrating the huge leaps forward the team has made recently.

After bringing upgrades to the Spanish Grand Prix, only three constructors have claimed more points than Kick Sauber’s 35, with Hulkenberg contributing 31 of those.

The German has finished in the points in all four races since the upgrades, including two top-six placings, and he has three top-six finishes and five points finishes from his 10 Belgian Grand Prix starts.

The tricky Spa-Francorchamps circuit often rewards experience, and there are few drivers on the grid with as much as the jubilant Hulkenberg.
