2025 Ryder Cup Betting Tips

The USA and Europe are preparing to go head-to-head in what could be an epic Ryder Cup battle at Bethpage Black in New York.

It’s the 45th Ryder Cup and the Europeans have enjoyed the upper hand in recent times, with eight wins in the last 11 matches.

Luke Donald’s men head across the Atlantic as the holders, following their 16.5-11.5 victory in Rome two years ago.

The US team will look for inspiration from a raucous crowd in their attempt to win back the trophy, which they have lifted in the last two matches on home soil.

Tip 1 – Europe to win @ 13/8

You have to go back to 2012 and the ‘Miracle at Medinah’ for the last time Europe won in America, a match in which captain Donald played a key role.

That team also included Rory McIlroy – who is available for a time at boosted 6/1 odds (was 15/4) with BetMGM to finish top European points scorer – and Justin Rose and that duo could also have a significant role to play again this time round.

It looks like a shrewd move from Donald to stick with players who have experience of winning, with just one change to the team from Rome – with Rasmus Hojgaard qualifying in place of brother Nicolai.

Hojgaard is the only rookie in the European team, with no fewer than 128 Ryder Cup matches played between the other 11 players.

Experience could prove crucial in a tight encounter, especially when you consider there are four first-time players in the American team.

JJ Spaun, Russell Henley, Ben Griffin and Cameron Young will be playing in the event for the first time, with Griffin and Young both captain’s picks.

Tip 2 – Tommy Fleetwood Top European Points Scorer @ 11/2

This has been a memorable year for Tommy Fleetwood and a Ryder Cup win on American soil would top it off for the Englishman.

Fleetwood ended his long wait for a PGA Tour title when landing the end-of-season Tour Championship to cap an ultra-consistent period for the man from Southport.

The 34-year-old claimed three top-10 and one top-20 finish in the five previous tournaments before his win and he will be in a confident mood heading to New York.

Fleetwood has been on the winning side in two of the three Ryder Cups he has played in and boasts an individual record of 7-3-2, winning eight points.

Tip 3 – Jon Rahm First Player to Play in the Singles @ 5/2

If the fourballs and foursomes are as close as many anticipate, then the captains’ lineup for the final-day singles could be crucial to the outcome.

Jon Rahm led the European team out on Sunday in Rome and claimed a half against world number one Scottie Sheffler who, like McIlroy, can be picked up for a time at boosted 4/1 odds (was 9/4) to finish top US points scorer with BetMGM.

McIlroy and Rahm have both been at the top of the order in recent matches but Donald may feel that McIlroy can deal with the pressure further down the list and help bring the cup home.

Rahm may also be keen to get the chance to play Scheffler for a third time in the singles, having also lost to him 4&3 at Whistling Straits in 2021.
