Megan Nicholls Racing Preview: York Tips
THURSDAY RACING TIPS
York 2.55 – Hambleton Handicap
I’ll back Cerulean Bay (13/2) here.
He’s back up to a mile after finding seven furlongs at Haydock too short and his trainer, David O’Meara, does well at York.
His charge looks to hold solid claims here, with the draw in stall six a big plus.
Megan’s Tip: Cerulean Bay WIN
York 3.30 – Middleton Fillies’ Stakes
I’m looking forward to seeing Fallen Angel (5/2) back in action and it’s interesting to see her over this 12-furlong trip.
We know she’s a Group One class filly and I just favour her over See The Fire (6/5 fav), who does have the fitness edge on her side but might not be quite as talented as Karl Burke’s runner.
Megan’s Tip: Fallen Angel WIN
York 4.05 – Dante Stakes
I’m sticking with Morshdi (11/4) who was a non-runner at Chester last week.
He’s very promising as shown by his impressive win in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket on his return.
The form perhaps isn’t the strongest but he looks a smart prospect and the William Haggas yard is in good form.
Megan’s Tip: Morshdi
York 4.40 – Westow Stakes
I’ve gone with Manatee Mehmas (3/1) in the Westow Stakes.
He absolutely bolted up on his debut at Doncaster just under three weeks ago.
You don’t see many five furlong races won by as far as he did and, while this is a big step up in grade, he’s clearly a pretty exciting horse with plenty of scope for improvement.
It’s hard to know how good he is but the signs are that’s he better than average and I’m hoping he can show that here.
Megan’s Tip: Manatee Mehmas WIN
