The livewire of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League Darts season, debutant Josh Rock has earned his place among the elite after a sensational 18 months.

Rocky arrives on the Premier League stage with a reputation for fearless, high-octane darts. While he is still hunting his first individual major, his natural talent is simply undeniable.

He reached three major semi-finals in 2025 and, crucially, showed he can handle the pressure of a final by partnering Daryl Gurney to a dramatic World Cup of Darts victory for Northern Ireland.

For a player with his ferocious scoring power, the weekly grind of the Premier League is the perfect stage to turn raw potential into consistent, world-class results.

In short, this competition is the ultimate litmus test for Rock.

Below you can delve further into Rocky’s career highlights and titles ahead of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League Darts season, which sees eight of the world’s best compete across a blockbuster 17 nights in the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Josh Rock History

Rock’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric.

Winning his Pro Tour Card in 2022, Rocky’s explosive play and ability to score at pace were evident when he won the PDC World Youth Championship by beating Nathan Girvan 6-1 in the final while averaging a youth final record 104.13.

That same year he made the last 16 of the Grand Slam of Darts and created one of the moments of the season by hitting his first televised nine-dart finish against three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen.

Rocky continued making waves by marching through to the fourth round of the 2023 World Darts Championship despite drawing the likes of Callan Rydz and Nathan Aspinall. It took a monumental, deciding-set effort from four-time major winner and 2026 BetMGM Premier League rival Jonny Clayton to halt the Northern Irishman’s charge.

A quarter-final appearance at the Grand Slam followed, while 2024 brought Rock his maiden European Tour title, the Dutch Darts Championship, as well as two Players Championship wins.

But it was in 2025 that Rock really started to make his name.

After a period of consolidating his tour status, 2025 was his true breakthrough year. He reached his first major individual semi-finals at the UK Open and World Matchplay – though the crowning moment came at the World Cup of Darts.

Rock was instrumental in Northern Ireland's triumph, throwing a record number of 180s in the final to clinch his first major PDC title.

His powerful ability to turn a game on its head surely means further major success isn’t far away for Rocky.

Now he has the chance to prove his worth on one of the biggest stages around: the 2026 BetMGM Premier League.

  • He holds the record for the highest average in a PDC World Youth Championship final, a stunning 104.13 in his 2022 victory over Girvan
  • The Northern Irishman has a major tournament nine-darter to his name – in the 2022 Grand Slam of Darts against Van Gerwen
  • He broke into the top 10 of the world rankings following an impressive 2025, earning himself a place in the 2026 BetMGM Premier League Darts lineup as a result
