Finals Night

BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS TIPS: BACK A FINALS NIGHT 180s FRENZY

Finals Night is upon us as the top four players from the BetMGM Premier League head to the O2 to battle it out for the title.

League winner Luke Littler opens the semi-finals as he takes on Gerwyn Price in a best-of-19-leg battle for a place in the showpiece.

The Nuke is targeting a second successive Premier League title but Price enjoyed a fine league campaign, winning three nights and hitting two spectacular nine-dart finishes.

Following that is Luke Humphries against Nathan Aspinall. The Asp is competing in Finals Night for the third time having secured his passage with a win over seven-time champion Michael van Gerwen in Sheffield last week.

Cool Hand was the runner-up to Littler last year and the world number one will be desperate to go one step further this time.

Two intriguing matchups will determine the two finalists, who will then fight it out over 21 legs to be crowned the 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts champion.

First, here’s a reminder of how the regular season table finished:

BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 14/1 Finals Night Double

  • Over 13.5 180s & both players over 0.5 100+ checkouts in Littler vs Price
  • Over 11.5 180s & over 0.5 bullseye checkouts in Humphries vs Aspinall

Leg 1 – Over 13.5 180s & both players over 0.5 100+ checkouts in Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price @ 11/4

After meeting four times during the regular campaign, Littler and Price lock horns once more with the stakes even higher.

They have two wins apiece from those encounters – Price with the first two and the Nuke with the other pair.

Between them they won more than half of the nights during the league phase: a record six wins for Littler and an impressive three for Price.

The pair also top the table for checkouts. Littler averages a highest checkout of 115.35, with Price’s coming in at 110.38. Indeed, the pair are the only two players to even average over 100 for that metric.

They are one and two again for the number of checkouts over 100 with 38 100+ checkouts for Littler and Price hitting 25.

As a result over 0.5 100+ checkouts in their O2 semi-finals meeting offers real value – but we can go a step further given how productive both can be on the treble 20.

Littler vs Price

It’s no secret how prolific Littler has been with the 180s this term. His staggering 169 represents an average per match of 4.57 – the nearest overall challenger was Humphries with 101 for ‘only’ 2.97 per game while eliminated Chris Dobey averaged 3.48 with 87 from his 25 matches.

Price has 71 from his 26 matches. It’s far from the heights of Littler but still enough to make the over 13.5 maximums in the match appeal, especially given the Iceman is third behind only Littler and Dirk van Duijvenbode for 180s hit this year on the men’s tour.

The game itself is a fascinating battle. Both have got the better of one another so far, and both will be desperate to make the final.

Backing both to have high finishes and hit maximums means 11/4 for over 13.5 180s and both players over 0.5 100+ checkouts is worth supporting.

Leg 2 – Over 11.5 180s & over 0.5 bullseye checkouts in Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall @ 3/1

Aspinall’s reward for his third-place finish in the league phase is a semi-final clash with the world number one.

Humphries won three nights, finished second – eight points ahead of the Asp in the standings – and won three of their four meetings this season.

Cool Hand also sits second in the 180s table with 101, albeit some way behind leader Littler. Aspinall is third with 93, though his fewer games played mean that his average per match (3.21) is higher.

With 536 maximums hit between them this calendar year backing over 11.5 180s in this one, where both will be striving to win the tournament for the first time, looks a smart play.

Again, though, we can go a step further. It is BetMGM Premier League Darts Play-offs Night after all…

180s

Neither man is a stranger to the bullseye. Aspinall, for instance, hit a stunning 164 checkout on Night 14 against Littler by finishing on it, nailed a 170 checkout in Rotterdam a few weeks prior and carries an impressive 33.3% bull checkout percentage over the past year.

Humphries has shown an eye for a bull finish too, famously hitting his own 164 in the 2024 Czech Darts Open final while both he and Littler missed the bull for a 100+ checkout in Leeds in the Premier League this year.

Cool Hand is also the only player remaining in the competition not to have reeled in the big fish – added motivation if it were needed.

Ally the 180 hitting and the penchant for bull finishes with the fact both players are hovering around an impressive 40% checkout rate overall for this year – Humphries 42.1%, Aspinall 38.5% – and 3/1 for over 11.5 180s and over 0.5 bullseye checkouts stands out as a potential show-stopping Finals Night selection.

BETMGM’S FINALS NIGHT DOUBLE

  • Over 13.5 180s and both players over 0.5 100+ checkouts in Littler vs Price
  • Over 11.5 180s and over 0.5 bullseye checkouts in Humphries vs Aspinall

BetMGM Premier League Darts Finals Night Specials

Six nightly wins to his name and top of the table, Littler heads to the capital as the 5/6 favourite to lift the BetMGM Premier League trophy for the second year in succession.

The 2024 winner has taken the league by storm again and will want continued success in a season in which he has already claimed the PDC World Championship.

Humphries is 9/4 second favourite and aiming to go one step further than his final defeat last year.

His semi-final opponent, Price, can be backed at an interesting 6/1, having won three regular nights so far while Aspinall is the 11/1 outsider.

Outright

Play-offs Night, of course, is also the final chance for players to win a set of custom-made 18ct gold darts for hitting a nine-darter.

Price has two perfect legs and two sets of gold darts already while Littler has one to his name and hit a perfect leg in the 2024 final on his way to lifting the title.

A sixth nine-darter of the BetMGM Premier League season, on the biggest of stages, is 7/2, while two or more is 16/1.

It happened in Brighton. Can Finals Night produce the most showstopping of endings?
