BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS NIGHT 10 PREVIEW & TIPS: LITTLER TO BUILD ON FIRST WIN?

The 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts heads to Manchester after consecutive weeks over the Irish Sea in Dublin and Belfast respectively. The latter city couldn’t provide a record-breaking fourth win in a row for Luke Humphries as Luke Littler defeated him 6-5 in the quarter-finals before going on to win the night and claim his first BetMGM Premier League Darts trophy.

Littler moved up to second palace due to the Belfast win and currently sits four points behind Humphries with early leader Michael van Gerwen slipping to third place. Van Gerwen did get a win in the quarter-final, beating Michael Smith before coming up short against Littler.

Nathan Aspinall continued his good run of form, beating Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright on his way to a runner-up spot. Wright’s quarter-final win against Rob Cross was just his second of the competition and moves him to within three points of Price albeit still at the foot of the table.

Before we share our picks for our acca as well as our weekly specials, let’s take a run-through of the BetMGM Premier League fixtures as the tournament arrives in the north-west.

BetMGM Premier League Darts Night 10 Fixtures

Last week’s runner-up Nathan Aspinall gets things underway in Manchester as he faces Rob Cross. The two played one another in the quarter-finals on both Night 7 and Night 8 with the Asp getting the better of Voltage on each occasion, just as he did when the pair met in the final in Exeter on Night 5. With quarter-final defeats in his last three weeks, Cross will be looking for a turnaround in form in this meeting as he looks to close the gap to the top four.

Next up, Luke Littler takes on seven-time BetMGM Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen. After a dip in form, the Dutchman halted the slide slightly last week with a quarter-final win before Littler got the better of him.

The pair have got to know each other well in recent months with the Nuke winning the last two meetings; Van Gerwen will be hoping his early tournament form returns as he tries to reduce the arrears at the top of the table. Littler, meanwhile, can build on the Belfast win and chase down leader Luke Humphries.

Humphries himself faces Michael Smith in the third quarter-final in Manchester. The world number one has been in supreme form recently despite last week’s defeat to Littler. A German Grand Prix win earlier in the week was sealed with an 8-1 final thrashing of Van Gerwen in which Humphries averaged 112.66, the second highest ever in a European Tour final, and hit a 170 checkout.

Last up in the quarter-finals the bottom two face off with Gerwyn Price taking on Peter Wright. They last faced each other three weeks back in Nottingham, with Snakebite getting his first win of the competition in that match.

Price has largely struggled in the 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts too; since his runner-up spot on Night 1 in Cardiff he has passed the quarter-finals just twice, surely making this one a must-win for the Welshman if he has aspirations of making Play-offs Night next month.

19/2 BetMGM Premier League Darts Night 10 Accumulator

Our weekly accumulator is here as the city of Manchester takes its turn to host the 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts – and we have picks from each of the four quarter-finals from Night 10.

Nathan Aspinall and Rob Cross get the night underway, in a match between two players who have seen a lot of each other in this competition. Aspinall has had the better of Cross of late, winning the last four meetings, and has enjoyed success with checkouts throughout the BetMGM Premier League. Indeed, the world number four has 12 100+ checkouts so far – including a 160 and a 170 – while only Gerwyn Price has a higher average weekly highest checkout than Aspinall’s 104.22. As a result, we like the sound of 22/25 for Aspinall to hit the highest checkout.

The second quarter-final sees Night 9 champion Luke Littler take on Michael van Gerwen, who won his first Premier League match in five weeks in Belfast. Littler and MVG have battled it out in 2024 since the Nuke burst onto the scene in the PDC World Championship and they have won two apiece from their four Premier League meetings this term.

Van Gerwen made it to the final of the German Grand Prix earlier in the week before being humbled 8-1 by Luke Humphries while Littler has performed consistently across his debut season to date.

As such, we head to the 180s market for this match. Littler has hit the most 180s for the week in a single match five times already this BetMGM Premier League season and his 59 maximums overall compares favourably with Van Gerwen’s 48. With Littler on fire and MVG improving, over 6.5 180s at 5/6 looks good value.

Humphries is out to get back to winning ways in Manchester and plays Michael Smith in his quarter-final. Despite last week’s early exit, Humphries has generally played immaculately of late, showcased with that 8-1 German Grand Prix final rout over MVG. Add that to the three BetMGM Premier League Darts nightly wins in the last four weeks and we are looking at a player on top of his game.

Bully Boy, meanwhile, has two runner-up finishes in the last four weeks himself – but it is difficult to look past Cool Hand to win the match and hit the most 180s at 5/4. With 68 maximums overall, the world champion has hit more 180s than his opponent in 14 of his 19 games so far and sits clear in the overall Premier League standings too.

Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright complete the last-eight ties on Night 10. Both have struggled for consistency this year and it took until Night 7 for Snakebite to get off the mark at all.

That happened to be in a game against the Iceman but Price got revenge for that defeat in the German Grand Prix – beating Wright 6-4 on his way to the semi-final – and we’re backing him to build on that and win this match at 4/11 to complete our Night 10 accumulator.

Night 10 Accumulator

  • Nathan Aspinall to hit the highest checkout vs Rob Cross
  • Michael van Gerwen vs Luke Littler over 6.5 180s
  • Luke Humphries to win & hit most 180s vs Michael Smith
  • Gerwyn Price to beat Peter Wright.

Luke Humphries leads the table and the betting for Night 10 as he goes into the night the 2/1 favourite to claim his fourth win in five Premier League weeks.

Last week’s winner Luke Littler has climbed to second place in the table and will look to make it back-to-back wins in Manchester at 5/2, German Grand Prix runner-up Michael van Gerwen is 9/2, Gerwyn Price is priced at 6/1 and Rob cross is at 9/1. Belfast finalist and Stockport native Nathan Aspinall sits at **11/1 while last year’s Manchester winner Michael Smith is 12/1 and Peter Wright, 20/1.
