BUNTING ON FOR BERLIN REPEAT? – BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS NIGHT 8 TIPS

We’re at the halfway mark of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League Darts season and it’s Jonny Clayton who sits atop the pile.

It’s been a stunning return to the competition for the 2021 champion, despite a first quarter-final loss last week, and the way the fixtures work for Night 8 sees top against bottom as he takes on struggling Josh Rock.

Rocky is in dire straits in the Premier League and could surpass the halfway point without so much as a point to his name.

Second-placed Luke Littler won a pulsating Night 7, coming from 5-0 down to beat Gerwyn Price in the final. It is Stephen Bunting, winner in Berlin last year, for the Nuke here.

Price takes on the returning Gian van Veen to close out the quarters, with the Iceman sat nicely in third spot.

The competition is intensifying and we have you covered for Night 8 and beyond with our BetMGM Premier League Darts Hub, which includes exclusive content, expert tips, the latest promotions and more.

With eight of the world’s best throwers scrapping for a top four spot, enjoy our analysis, accumulator and Bet Builder tips below as the competition gets set for a trip to Germany.

BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 7/1 Night 8 Acca

  • Clayton to beat Rock (-1.5 leg handicap)
  • Humphries vs Van Gerwen over 8.5 legs
  • Bunting 97.5+ average vs Littler
  • Price to beat Van Veen

Leg 1 – Jonny Clayton to beat Josh Rock (-1.5 leg handicap) @ 4/5

Seven weeks, seven defeats for Rock. The most recent was probably the most damaging yet – a whitewash at the hands of Price in Dublin.

Up against league leader Clayton in the night’s opener, it is hard to see things getting any better for him in Berlin.

Standings ahead of Night 8

These two met in the very first match of this year’s competition, with Clayton a 6-2 winner in Newcastle. While the Ferret has kicked on and had a storming return, Rock has won just 11 legs total since that match.

Despite suffering his first quarter-final exit last week, Clayton has by far the best leg difference in the Premier League with 22 and has won eight matches by three legs or more.

For Rock, it is basically the opposite story. He has won more than two legs in a game just once, and has a leg difference of minus 29.

Clayton to win this one with a -1.5 leg handicap is 4/5 and kicks off our acca.

Leg 2 – Over 8.5 legs in Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen @ 4/11

Just a point separates these two in the table and just two legs difference.

They, too, met on the opening night and on Night 5 with a convincing win apiece.

Seven-time champion Van Gerwen started well but since night two has not won a game – last week’s semi-final appearance was due to Van Veen's withdrawal.

Despite the convincing wins in both matches (6-1 to Humphries and 6-2 to Van Gerwen), we expect this one to run much closer.

All of their four Premier League meetings last year had at least 10 legs, while 62% of Humphries' and 60% of MVG’s matches this year have had over 8.5 legs.

Van Gerwen’s 6-5 loss to Littler in Dublin was one that he really should have won but his inability to get over the line points to another long game here, something Humphries has grown familiar with too. Four of his 13 matches have gone all the way to a deciding leg.

Over 8.5 legs at 4/11 seems short but makes sense on the acca.

Leg 3 – Stephen Bunting to average over 97.5 vs Luke Littler @ 5/6

These two faced each other last week and this pick landed.

Littler ran out 6-3 victor with both players averaging over a ton – for Bunting it was 104.10, far above the threshold for the acca this week.

The Bullet has the third-best average in the Premier League so far despite sitting in seventh place and winning just four games. Only Littler and Humphries average higher than his 99.36.

He has beaten Littler only once in the Premier League but has averaged more than a ton in four of their six meetings.

Bunting really is playing better than the results suggest. The 97.5 threshold for his average seems more than surpassable again – he has only failed to hit that mark twice in seven weeks.

It’s 5/6 for the Bullet to average over that again.

Leg 4 – Gerwyn Price to beat Gian van Veen @ 3/4

Price is enjoying himself – or at least he was until he let a five-leg lead and five match darts slip against Littler in Dublin.

He had demolished all in his path and was on the verge of winning the night, dropping just one leg, before the Nuke’s epic comeback.

A 6-0 thrashing of Rock and a 6-1 dismantling of Humphries had set up the showdown with Littler; he will be eager to right the wrongs of that collapse.

He’s up against the returning Van Veen here after the Giant’s withdrawal last week with the pair winning one each of their two meetings so far – both 6-5.

A staggering 62% of the Iceman’s matches have gone to the wire and, while that may be a shout here, we are turning to the match market for the final acca pick.

Odds of 4/5 for a Price win makes even more sense when you consider BetMGM is paying out as a winner if your player goes three legs to the good – we paid out on Price to win the final last week for instance.

BETMGM’S 7/1 NIGHT 8 ACCA

  • Humphries vs Van Gerwen over 8.5 legs
  • Bunting 97.5+ average vs Littler
  • Price to beat Van Veen

BETMGM’S 19/2 NIGHT 8 CLAYTON VS ROCK BET BUILDER

  • Clayton to win 6-2
  • Over 2.5 Clayton 180s

We have what looks like quite the mismatch kicking things off at the Uber Arena.

Top of the pile, Clayton will be relishing the chance to put more distance between himself and second-placed Littler as he takes on a winless Rock.

Rocky is enduring a nightmare debut campaign with just 13 legs won and zero points – he won’t be looking forward to this one.

Clayton has already defeated him 6-2 on the opening night, a scoreline he has suffered in four of his seven matches; only once has Rock even won more than two legs.

Clayton vs Rock

Just one leg won by Rock in his last two matches is far from good enough and a repeat of that 6-2 win for Clayton is potentially on the cards.

Rocky has averaged just 82 and 84 in the last two weeks. He clearly can play better than that but Clayton may not give him the opportunity to do so.

The Ferret has also thrown his fair share of maximums so far, hitting the second most overall. His 46 is behind only Littler’s 54 and, while he has played more games than everyone else, he still averages over 2.5 180s a match.

He hit six while averaging over 109 in the clash on Night 1 – over 2.5 maximums for the Welshman looks a sound selection again.

  • Clayton to win 6-2
